Easter Egg Hunt at Belcarra ParkTue 25 March 2008 by Patti Lippe in News
On Easter Monday, March 24, 2008 at 11am members of Vancouver Apneists gathered at Belcarra Park in Port Moody for an 'Easter egg' hunt.
A counted number of golf balls were thrown into a specified area of the water just north of the dock and within about 50 m of the shoreline. Vanapneists used their underwater hunting skills to gather as many 'eggs' as they could before they were all collected.
It was a gorgeous day to be in the water, we were close to the shoreline and whenever our hands were full of 'eggs' we swan to the shore to drop off our catch. At the waters edge near the dock there were stunningly purple starfish.
At the end of the day all the golf balls were collected including a few extra were found that must have been there before we came.
After that hunt we gathered at the Belcarra Park picnic area for lunch of hot soup and other snacks including some of the chocolate prizes that had been given away to the winners!
